Get to Know Dan Shapiro!

In this week’s blog, Dan shares a little bit about himself and his wonderful family. Dan is a Senior Vice President with Cresa. His office is located in Bethesda, Maryland and he assists space occupiers across the US and internationally as well as the Greater D.C. Metro area with his expertise. Dan specializes in providing comprehensive real estate services by utilizing a proven strategic planning method that includes analyzing leases, providing sound market advice and managing negotiations of innovative lease alternatives for each of his clients. By providing strategic real estate planning and comprehensive market coverage for occupiers far in advance of their lease expiration dates, Dan has a proven track record of facilitating the best possible lease terms under current market conditions for occupiers, achieving significant bottom-line savings for each project. He is a co-founder of Cresa’s Government Contractor Practice Group.

Q) Who is your family? 

A) Wife: Filomena and Son: Benjamin (9 months old)














Q) Where did you get your education?

A) Gonzaga College High School in Washington DC, University of Maryland Business School – BS in Finance 


Q) What made you decide on Commercial Real Estate as a sector to work in?

A) It is a very entrepreneurial industry where you have a lot of control over your schedule and success.  It also allows me to work with executives in all different industries from Defense and Aerospace, IT, Professional Services, and Non-Profits. 


Q) What’s your favorite(s) movie?

A) Goodfellas


Q) Why do you like working at Cresa? 

A) I believe in our Tenant-Only platform:  we are a true conflict-free advisor to our clients.  We have a great team, and most of my co-workers are personal friends.

 







Q) What sports do you play?

A) In High School, Football and Baseball – now, Golf.


Q) Do you do any community service?  Please give us some details if you do. 

A) I ran Cresa’s partnership with the Manna Food Center to deliver meals to low income students in Montgomery County, MD


Q) During off time, what do you enjoy doing the most?

A) Spending time with my family – our new son Ben keeps us very busy!  During the warm months you can find us at Rehoboth Beach most weekends.
